Another set of reunion photos -- check out this set from Brian Stoddard
Thanks Brian, my thoughts exactly, I couldn't have said it better myself. As I drove out of CT on Monday I also found myself misty eyed.
Having been to every reunion except 1, I wondered why this one seemed so very special. From Thurs. to Mon. I didn't see a tv, listen to a radio or read a newspaper. We were all back in that special time of our lives, we didn't need the hectic outside world.
Thanks to ALL who joined in the 3 day celebration, what a phenomenal trip down memory lane!!!!!!! I miss you all already......
Posted by: Gail Latimer Gorian at August 2, 2006 06:57 PMDuring our senior year at Staples, I remember hearing a few comments from teachers about what an especially close-knit, extroverted and good-natured bunch we were. At the time, I just shrugged it off and chalked it up to strategic flattery. After these three magnificent days and forty years of perspective, however, the accuracy of that observation became crystal-clear. Throughout the weekend, I found myself thinking: "How fortunate I am to be my age and to have spent such vital years with these co-conspirators." I was indescribably uplifted by it all, and felt a kinship with every last soul. Laughter was rampant, music was everywhere and hugs were everlasting. Like Brian, I had great chats with folks I barely knew in high school. Conversations with closer cohorts I hadn't laid eyes on in four decades began like this: "And..." It was as though we'd never left, and it was, indeed, very difficult to leave on Sunday. Thanks so much to Ann and Bill, Lisa, Johno and all the other folks who orchestrated everything. My life is richer for the honor of being a member of the Class of '66. So, here's to us, and let's do it again immediately!
Posted by: Jon Gailmor at August 4, 2006 10:26 AMI'm sorry I couldn't attend this year, you all seemed to have a great time!
One comment however, while the pictures are WONDERFUL, I don't recognize most of the people in them! Without the few where you can read the nametags, I'd be clueless. When you get the time, adding captions would be great!
Thanks!
Posted by: Sally (Wallis) Nagy at August 4, 2006 11:13 AMHello All !
So Sorry I couldn't make it. After 6 years living and working in Asia I'm finally back to Chicago but was returning from Indonesia during the reunion.
Next time I look forward to seeing you all.
Boda
It was great connecting with old friends, many whom I've known since grade school at Saugatuck and Bedford Jr. High. It was a special night for all of us because the spirit of the 60s still lives in all our hearts. Thanks for the photos, Brian and thanks Ann and Bill who so graciously opened up their home last Sat. night so we could all be together again.
Peace and love to you al! CathY
Posted by: Cathy Smith Barnett at August 4, 2006 10:14 PMThanks for the sharing photos, looks like everyone had a great time. Sorry I was not able to make it this year. I'm also clueless to who's who!! See you next time.
Posted by: Patricia Duffy at August 5, 2006 12:31 PMSorry I couln't attend- in the middle of a relocation from CT to North Carolina. Great pictures, thanks for adding names! I note several comments about people saying the class was special. Believe it! My wife has been a teacher over 25 yrs. and has observed a special class comes through periodically, but not frequently. Nice to be part of one of them! Warm regards, Steve Simon
