Wow! Our 40th reunion was one that has to have topped all that came before it.

As Don Ulrich so aptly said, "the ease with which we re-bonded with each other given the length of time since we had seen the other members of the class of '66 was outstanding."

And John Gailmor is absolutely correct about the attributes of our class that were expressed by our teachers (one of whom is my mother-in-law, Doris Raymaley Bucky).

My wife Jill Raymaley Bossert (staples class of '67) has been telling me for years how exceptional our class was.

Well, guess what?...it still is!

When I look back over the past 40 years at everything this class has accomplished and is still contributng, it is truly amazing.

I am so fortunate to be a member of the class of '66.

As Jim Valvano (famous college basketball coach who died of cancer in 1993) said in one of his last speeches, "there are three things we all should do everyday. We should laugh everyday. Number two is think. You should spend time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special."

We weren't together for seven days at our 40th reunion, but i can tell you this, Idid all three things each day of the reunion that valvano talks about. And, he was right. I had a heck of a day...each day! And we indeed had something special.

My thanks to Ann Sheffer, Bill Scheffler, Lisa Kimball, and Johno Lupton for organizing everything.

Thanks too to the entertainers. Roger Kaufman and the old school revue, rob carlson, jon gailmor, and steve emmett...and with a little help from their friends like john coniglio.

Warm appreciation to Jerry Jones for the beautiful and moving memorial service saturday night in honor our deceased classmates.

How do you top the 40th reunion? You don't, unless you're part of the staples class of '66. Then you do it even better the next time.

I for one can't wait for the bigger and better 45th reunion.

See you there!
